This year’s annual Toyota Awards for the year 2007 held at the Grand Ball Room of the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island on the 10th April, 2008.

In attendance were the Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited Chief M. Ade. Ojo OON, Dealer Principals, Customers from across the wide spectrum of the Nigerian socio-economic space as well as journalists, key dealer staff and management staff of Toyota Nigeria Limited.

In his welcome address the Chairman Toyota Nigeria Limited reiterated the essence of the annual programme as a way of rewarding excellence and commitment to ‘high level of professionalism and business ethics’ on the part of the dealers, and customers for their ‘unshaken and avowed loyalty to the Toyota brand’ and Journalists.

He went further to congratulate Toyota Nigeria Limited on its ability to sustain its leadership position in the Nigerian auto industry by increasing its market share with a record sales volume of over 20,000 units in the year gone by.

In addition, the Chairman highlighted the efforts being put in place by the company to guarantee quality service delivery and engender improved customer satisfaction in the current year.

These include training and retraining of technicians and upgrading of existing dealer workshops through the building of world class and IT driven facilities in all the dealerships across the federation.

Also, the company from last year to date introduced new products such as the new Previa, Yaris, Avanza and most recently New Generation Corolla and Land Cruiser; that will TAKE THE LEAD in their respective segments.
Lastly, he paid glowing tributes to government at different levels for creating an enabling and business friendly environment across the country.

In its demonstration of its support for the government in its crime control drive, the company donated 15 Hilux Pick Up vans worth over N50 million to the Lagos State Government. This formed the cardinal CSR achievement of the company in 2007.

Awards were later given in three different categories viz Dealer category, Customer category and Journalist category as follows:

2. Customer of the Year 2007 ( 2nd Runner Up) Intercontinental Bank Plc
3. Customer of the Year 2007 ( 1st Runner Up) Oceanic Bank Plc
4. Customer of the Year 2007 ( Winner) United Bank for Africa Plc

Winners in the different categories smiled home with prizes ranging from 37 Inches Samsung LCD Television,
