CAMRY SAFETY
PACKAGING
A major contributor to both the highly efficient aerodynamics performance and the spacious comfort of the cabin, it provides the excellent head and leg room, and the ample trunk space.
 WINDSHIELD GLASS
One of the measures contributing to the excellent quietness enjoyed in the cabin is the use of high noise-damping glass for the windshield, which helps to reduce wind noise.
 AUDIO SYSTEM
The 6-speaker system creates the superb sound presence in the cabin. The system’s touch-panel display and steering wheel switches enable easy operation. It also features a Bluetooth function and a USB/mini-jack.
 TRUNK SPACE
The excellent packaging design contributes to the large luggage capacity of the trunk.
SUPER ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED TRANSMISSION (ECT)
Both the 3.5-litre and 2.5-litre engines feature a super intelligent 6-speed automatic transmission. Excellent matching with the engines consistently produces outstanding driving performance and fuel efficiency, and at the same time realizes a smooth shifting feeling and quiet operation.
METER CLUSTER
Easy-to-read Optitron metres provide the driver with critical driving information at a glance. To support eco driving, it is equipped with a needle-type average fuel consumption gauge and LED current fuel consumption bars, and an Eco Driving Indicator that illuminates a green lamp to inform the driver when accelerator operation is considerate to the environment.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPS)
An electric motor activates only when assist torque is required to assist steering, contributing to excellent fuel efficiency. Vehicle speed sensing helps to realize optimum steering feeling from low-speed to high-speed driving.
VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC)
While cornering, VSC acts to reduce excessive side slipping by the tyres to help return the vehicle to a zone of comfortable control, rather than improving the limits of driving performance.
CRASH SAFETY BODY
It is comprised of a high integrity cabin with front and rear crumple zones that help absorb impact energy in a collision. It also incorporates a body structure to help reduce injury to pedestrians.
AIRBAGS
To help reduce the impact to occupants in a collision, the Camry is equipped with SRS driver airbag, SRS front passenger airbag, SRS side airbags (Front seats) and SRS curtain shield airbags (Front and rear seats).
WHIPLASH INJURY LESSENING (WIL) CONCEPT FRONT SEATS
In a rear-end collision the occupant’s upper body sinks into the seatback with the back supported while the headrest simultaneously supports the head, to help reduce injury to the vertebra in the neck.
