THE LAUNCH OF THE NEW GENERATION TOYOTA AVENSIS
The launch of the NG Avensis held in Lagos and Abuja on the 26th March
2009 and 8th April 2009 respectively.
While the Lagos leg of the event took place at the prestigious
Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island the Abuja version held at the
Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
Both events witnessed a choice crowd
of Toyota customers particularly the core Avensis loyalists.
Present at the programme were top Government functionaries, as well as top executives
of Nigerian corporate environment as well as the public sector of the economy.
Journalists from notable Nigerian media both print and electronics were also represented
at the two events to accord it the requisite hype in the media.
About 300 people graced the Lagos version while 250 people were in attendance in
Abuja.
Among the dignitaries who attended the events were the Indian Ambassador to Nigeria
Managing Director of Skye Bank Mr. Olusola Akinfemiwa, Chairman Senate Committee
on Information Chief Ayogu Eze, Director-General Nigerian Tourism Development Company
Dr Olusegun Runsewe among other eminent personalities at the occasion while the
enigmatic Chairman Toyota (Nigeria) Limited Chief Ade. Ojo OON ably assisted by
the Managing Director Toyota (Nigeria) Limited Mr. C. K. Thampy was on hand at both
occasions to receive the guests
The encouraging turn-out of invitees at the event is an indication of the acceptability
of the Toyota brand as well as its popularity in Nigeria.
The all new Generation Toyota Avensis comes in three variants: Automatic Transmissions
with Leather Seats, Automatic Transmissions with Fabric Seats and Manual Transmissions
