CHAIRMAN’S BIRTHDAY IN RETROSPECT
Recently, Chief M. Ade. Ojo OON Chairman, Toyota (Nigeria) Limited clocked 70 years.
This feat was marked by an eventful week of activities which rolled into one another
in a sequence.
The birthday ceremony kick started on June 9, 2008 with a book launch at the prestigious
Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Lagos. This was closely followed in quick succession
by the launch of Elizade Educational Foundation, donation to Charity Organizations
to accentuate the philanthropic beliefs of the Chairman, Praise and Worship featuring
Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church
of God and a Birthday lecture.
On June 12, 2008 reminiscences of the Chairman’s childhood cum youthful lifetime
were captured in an Oldies Nite; a night put together by the Celebrant to fete his
childhood friends.
Nostalgic moments as well as fond memories of their youthful days were relived
during this event.
The Church auditorium of the Arch Bishop Vining Memorial Church Ikeja was filled
to capacity with the convergence of who is who in the Nigerian socio-economic as
well as political landscape joining the Celebrant to thank God for his Grace upon
his life as he turned 70 years on that particular day. Indeed it was an awesome
and delectable configuration of colour, pomp and splendor.
Thereafter, distinguished guests were treated to a mouth watering reception at the
Police College playground Ikeja. The worlds acclaimed Juju Maestro; King Sunny Ade
was on ground to entertain guests.
The event climaxed with a golf tournament solely sponsored by the Celebrant. The
event had as its Hole-in-one prize a Land Cruiser VX.
Indeed the Chairman’s 70th birthday would go down in history as
one of the most memorable events put together in recent times.
