11TH ABUJA MOTOR FAIR 2009
This year’s Abuja International Motor Fair; the 11th edition took place
at the Eagle Square, Abuja recently. It lasted for nine days (May 13th
- 21st 2009) As usual; the event was packaged by BKG Exhibitions Nigeria
Limited and was declared open by Federal Capital Territory Minister Alhaji Adamu
Aliero ably assisted by the Director General National Automotive Council of Nigeria,
Engineer Aminu Jalal.
Also at the opening were top policy and decision makers in Nigeria among who was
the Chairman, Toyota (Nigeria) Limited Chief Ade. Ojo oon as well as the Managing
Director Toyota (Nigeria) Limited. Mr. Chrishnadas Thampy.
Toyota justified its leadership status in the Nigerian auto industry by emerging
as the company with the largest portion of the display ground 1000 sq. metres in
the front area parading 36 units of vehicles across the 12 model line up of Toyota
(Nigeria) Limited with the NG Avensis, Yaris AT Alloy Wheels, Corolla 1.4 xli and
Land Cruiser being the star models.
TNL recorded an imposing presence compared to competition in the areas of branding
and decorations. We succeeded in carving a uniquely beautiful ambience peculiar
to TNL as the whole arena was adorned with Toyota banners and flags. Like in previous
editions our giant-sized canopy which has become TNL’s trade mark remained an apt
symbol of the company’s dominance as a colossus bestriding the horizon of the Nigerian
auto industry.
The intimidating size of our tent complemented the array of models
(12 models) on parade on the exhibition ground. It is on record that we
had the highest number of vehicles (36 vehicles) at the Fair
In the Toyota tradition of excellence, we projected the holistic interplay of the
company’s 3S philosophy by embarking on Parts display and FREE diagnostic test on
Toyota vehicles three years and below. This was cherished and relished by Toyota
faithfuls who thronged the Toyota stand.
In addition, we offered our esteemed customers Special Price on some of our vehicles.
Prominent among which were the Corolla the Yaris Automatic Alloy Wheels, Prado 10
Seater Grill Guard and the Hiace Ambulance. This aimed at rewarding our valued customers
for their support and loyalty to the brand that offers superior value.
By the end of the nine-day event, about eight hundred and nineteen people took time
to sign our register out of so many that visited
our stand. These include eminent
personalities like ministers, State Governors, senators, honorable members of House
of Representatives, Opinion leaders Policy makers and other dignitaries from all walks of life. Notable among them were the Executive Governor of Benue State, His
Deputy South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria and the Gambian Ambassador to Nigeria. Read more
